Who Do You Think You Are? Sheridan Smith uncovers her Sheffield roots

Last week's episode of BBC1's 'Who Do You Think You Are' featured BAFTA award-winning actress, Sheridan Smith.

Sheridan is best known for her roles in the BBC comedy series Two Pints of Lager And A Packet of Crisps and Gavin and Stacey; she also stars as 'Cilla' in ITV's forthcoming drama about Cilla Black.  Sheridan has performed since she was a child, singing alongside her parents in the working men's clubs near their home in north Lincolnshire.

The programme saw Sheridan journey to Sheffield to visit Sheffield Archives and Local Studies Library where she uncovers the colourful life of her great, great grandfather Benjamin Doubleday, a world-class banjo player...
