The Sheffield City Council-run Libraries (Central Library, Chapeltown, Crystal Peaks, Darnall, Ecclesall, Firth Park, Hillsborough, Highfield, Manor, Parson Cross, Stocksbridge and Woodseats) offer a core activity programme. This consists of the same activities run in each library and reflects our aims as a library service and the outcomes of the Sheffield City Council Plan. Our activities are detailed below.

For Adults

Reading Groups. Every library has a reading group where members of the community meet and talk about a chosen book.

Past Times. A session for people to socialise and reminisce. Sessions are themed around a certain topic.

Digital Support. A drop-in session for basic digital advice.

Library Social. A coffee morning where the community can meet and chat.

For Children

Babytime. A group for babies and their families to play, read and sing.

Storytime. A session for pre-school children to listen to stories and take part in a related activity.

Chatterbooks. A reading group for 7–11 year olds.

Class Visits. Each library will contact their local schools with the aim of introducing them to their local library,

For more details, including days and times of each session, please contact your local library.
