Summer Holiday Activities

Over the summer we’ll be offering a wide ranging and free series of events for children across our libraries citywide.  To book a place for your child, contact the relevant library.

All children under eight years of age must be accompanied by a parent or responsible carer to the above activities.

Remember that you can collect Children’s University Credits for attending any of these activities.  Also check out Mischief Makers; the Summer Reading Challenge 2018.

Beat The Beano Stars - Traditional Games with a Twist

Young mischief makers take on the Beano’s cartoon heroes at traditional games with a twist.  Can you out menace Dennis and survive Minnie the Minx marble mayhem. An activity for children age 7-12 years.

Using a combination of science, technology, engineering, arts and maths (STEM) with storytelling children can change the ending of their favourite book using plasticine or lego to build a scene and use stop-motion animation to make a short movie.  Suitable for children aged 7+ years.
