Summer Holiday Activities

Over the summer we’ll be offering a wide ranging and free series of events for children across our libraries citywide.  To book a place for your child, contact the relevant library.

All children under eight years of age must be accompanied by a parent or responsible carer to the above activities.

Remember that you can collect Children’s University Credits for attending any of these activities.  Also check out Mischief Makers; the Summer Reading Challenge 2018.

Monday 30th July                                  Crystal Peaks Library 10.30am -11.45am Manor Library 2pm – 3.15pm	Beat The Beano Stars - Traditional Games with a Twist	Young mischief makers take on the Beano’s cartoon heroes at traditional games with a twist.  Can you out menace Dennis and survive Minnie the Minx marble mayhem. An activity for children age 7-12 years.
Monday 30th July Woodseats Library 2pm – 3pm	Bright Box Makerspace	Using a combination of science, technology, engineering, arts and maths (STEM) with storytelling children can change the ending of their favourite book using plasticine or lego to build a scene and use stop-motion animation to make a short movie.  Suitable for children aged 7+ years.
Monday 30th July Ecclesall Library 2.00-4.00pm	Cartoon Workshop	Join renowned artists Ed Syder and Bam and learn how to create your very own cartoon characters. An activity for children aged 7-11 years.
Monday 30th July Darnall Library 2.00-4.00pm	Be A Maker For A Day	Create your own characters using Fimo and send them on an adventure.  Where will they travel to, what will they see and who will they bump into along the way? An activity for children aged 6-12 years.
